About Chickeroo
Chickeroo is a delivery-focused fried chicken brand based in the UK, launched by the team behind Pineapple Pink during the COVID-19 pandemic. Operating as a dark kitchen, Chickeroo offers a menu of high-quality chicken dishes exclusively for takeaway and delivery. The brand’s focus on speed, efficiency, and customer convenience has enabled it to thrive in the fast-paced online food delivery market, with plans to expand to a high-street location in the near future.
The Challenge
Launching a completely new food brand in the middle of a pandemic was never going to be easy. Chickeroo needed to move at speed to capture online orders and build a customer base before competitors could react.
There were three main challenges:
A quick launch – The brand needed to be live and ready to take orders in days, not months.
Efficient delivery management – With orders coming from multiple areas, the team needed a way to control the order in which deliveries were sent out, so drivers could deliver more food in fewer trips.
Room to grow – The business wanted a system that could support future plans for a physical store, including in-store ordering through kiosks.
The Solution
Flipdish supplied a complete digital ordering system that covered every stage of the process, from placing an order to delivering the food.
Website and mobile app – Flipdish created a branded website and app so customers could order with ease. Both were set up in days, allowing Chickeroo to start taking orders almost immediately.
Point of Sale (POS) with manual order control – Chickeroo’s team could manage orders in real time using the Kitchen Display System (KDS). This allowed them to drag and drop orders based on where they were going and when they were due, creating grouped deliveries that made the most of each driver’s run.
Future-ready technology – The same system will support future in-store kiosks, making it possible to run both online and walk-in orders from one place.
The Impact: Faster Launch, Smarter Deliveries, and a Platform for Growth
Chickeroo’s partnership with Flipdish transformed a simple concept into a fully functioning business in record time. The technology not only enabled a rapid launch but also created a delivery operation that is both efficient and scalable.
Key achievements include:
Two-week turnaround from initial concept to going live online.
Three times more deliveries per run through smart order grouping and driver scheduling.
A smooth link between the kitchen team and delivery drivers, ensuring hot, fresh meals reach customers faster.
A future-proof setup that is ready for expansion into a high-street presence without sacrificing online capabilities.
What’s Next: Bringing Chickeroo to the High Street Without Losing Its Online Edge
The next stage for Chickeroo is to open a high-street location that will also act as a delivery hub. The aim is to continue using Flipdish for online ordering while adding self-service kiosks for customers who prefer to order in person. This will allow Chickeroo to combine the convenience and reach of a strong online presence with the visibility and community connection of a physical shopfront. It is a growth plan designed to keep the brand agile while broadening its customer base.
