Transition Process

Flipdish will set everything up for you on the Flipdish platform as it is set-up with Appaway, orders will continue to be processed by Appaway until you are ready to go live with Flipdish to ensure a seamless transition from your store onto the Flipdish platform.

We will send you a welcome email with all the information you need to run your business with Flipdish.

We will also provide you with a free live onboarding webinar designed for you to ensure you get all the information you need to be successful with us. Check our onboarding schedule and register for a live webinar here.

No, you do not need to sign a new contract or agree to new terms of business. Your existing Appaway contract will be re-assigned to Flipdish.

No, there should not be any interruption in the service and products you receive when you move to Flipdish, the transition to Flipdish should be seamless and our team will help you with that.


Yes, your customers can still order online. The ordering process remains the same.

Customers will order online, through app and web and orders will be sent to your new Flipdish terminal.

You will need to activate your new Flipdish terminal and return the old terminal to Appaway, 12 Station Bridge, Harrogate, HG1 1UE.

No, your restaurant will not move right away.

To ensure everything is set-up smoothly and to a high standard, we will onboard groups of new customers every week. Once we are ready to get you onboarded, you will receive further information from us with next steps and an expected go-live date.

Click the join button. This email is to let you know that your Flipdish Portal is ready to go and will take you directly to the portal homepage.

No, you do not have to set up your restaurant from scratch, we will set it up for you. We will set everything up with your existing sales channels (web and app) and new hardware on our Flipdish platform. We will include your existing details including your opening hours and also your menus.

Our Menu team will support you as well if you need further assistance.

We will set your restaurant up on the Flipdish platform as it is on the Appaway platform. If anything isn’t right when you go live with Flipdish you can contact [email protected] and our team will get in touch as soon as possible to help you with any questions you may have.

Yes, your menu will be set-up in the same way.

You also have the option to update or optimise your existing menu yourself, for example by adding images, adding descriptions. Our menu team will be happy to help you with that if you need any assistance.

Yes, while you are with Appaway, you will keep using your existing hardware in store for your orders.

Before you complete the move to Flipdish, we will send you new hardware, including a terminal with a printer to be used and you will need to return your old Appaway hardware to Appaway once you have gone live on the Flipdish platform.

Don’t worry, our team has integrated all systems and tools you need to keep your business up and running and ready to use. We will send you further information prior to the onboarding with Flipdish to keep you updated.

No, you do not need to use more than one device or terminal in your store. You will only need one terminal.

While you are with Appaway, you will use the current Appaway hardware. Before you go live with Flipdish, you will receive Flipdish hardware ready to use.

You will then need to return the old Appaway hardware to Appway, and only use the Flipdish hardware.

We will replace all of your old terminals. Please return your Appaway terminal to Appaway.

Through Flipdish, you can have multiple stores print from the same terminal so you should only need one terminal.

If there is a use case that you need more than two terminals, then we will be happy to facilitate.

While you’re with Appaway, you will be using your existing hardware.

Once you move to Flipdish, we will replace the hardware with our Flipdish hardware and you will need to return your existing (old) hardware to Appaway.

You will receive further instructions on how to return the old hardware before moving to Flipdish.

For the time being with Appaway you keep using your current Appaway account.

Once your Flipdish portal is available we will email you further information.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer customer (end-user) data from Appaway to Flipdish. If you would like a copy of this data it can be requested from Appaway prior to your restaurant transitioning.

Once your portal has been created, we will add your email address as a user on your portal.

You will receive an email from us to sign up to your portal and create your own password.

Yes, your customers will be able to order online from your website/app.

Your web address with your URL will not change. Your customers will need to download the new app for each restaurant. To do so, they will see a link on your website promoting the download of the new app. The app will then be directed automatically to the new website//app which will include more features and a better user experience.

We will also set-up a redirect in your old app that will prompt the user to download the new app, with all its great new features, when it has been put live.

Yes, you will have a new website and/or app with enhanced features for better user experience. We will create this website for you.

Your web address with your URL will not change. Your customers will need to download the new Flipdish app for each restaurant. They will see a link on your website and in your old app explaining how to download the new app which will be directed automatically to the new website/app.


Yes, in your existing app they will see a link to download the new app, and will also notice that the new website we built with your existing URL includes enhanced features leading to a much better user experience.

Your web address with your URL will not change. Your customers will need to download the new Flipdish app for each restaurant. They will see a link on your website explaining how to download the new app which will be directed automatically to the new website/app which will include more features.

The existing app will remain active for a short period and customers will see a screen when they click on the existing app directing them to download the new app that will be set up by our team on your behalf prior to transitioning to Flipdish.

Additionally, our design team will create Marketing kits for you to use in-store to promote the download of your new app. Your app will have a more engaging design and user experience and include enhanced features like tipping and Google Pay and Apple Pay.

We advise you to keep talking to your customers and to use our Marketing tools.

We will have access to and take care of your Google My Business account and update it for higher engagement and to ensure your customers are well-informed.

The offers you have set-up on your website should be transferable to Flipdish and should be in place when your restaurant goes live with us.

You should continue to contact Appaway whilst they are handling your online orders.

When it is your turn to transition to Flipdish you will receive an email with further information from us.

Fees, Charges and Payments

No, you do not have to pay any cost to move to Flipdish. The current costs you are paying will maintain.

Your fees will remain the same when you transition to Flipdish.

If you are still receiving orders on the Appaway platform you should continue to contact Appaway for all billing-related queries.

After your restaurant is live with Flipdish, any questions related to payments can be sent to [email protected] and our support team will get in touch as soon as possible and answer your questions.

While your orders are being processed by Appaway, everything remains as it is.

Once you are onboarded with Flipdish, you will receive daily payouts and monthly invoices by email.

Payment for your online orders will begin when you have added your bank details and verified them with Stripe through the Flipdish Portal

Payments are made to your store on a daily basis by bank transfer

If you are using Flipdish Kiosks or PayPal, then payments for these orders will be made weekly. Watch this course to learn more about Banking and Financials.

You can access and view your daily sales and transactions in your Flipdish portal. You just need to log in using your email and password, click the “Reports” button on the left in the menu, and then select "Orders". You can access our order reporting functionality at any time.

Order Reporting allows you to search and filter all of your order data: by date periods, stores, sales through delivery/collection, platforms, vouchers, rejections and payment types. You receive detailed information on the order and rejected order amount, see the exact number of accepted, rejected or refunded orders or the average order value.

Loyalty Discounts, Vouchers, Discount Codes and Offers

Unfortunately, we cannot transfer historical orders which prompt loyalty discounts.

Unfortunately, we can’t transfer historical customer data and as a result we will not be able to retain existing vouchers that customers have been issued.

Yes, the offers you have set up on your website should be in place when your restaurant goes live with us.

The new app will be more engaging for customers and should create greater loyalty amongst your customer base.

Remove your existing Marketing material.

Our Flipdish team will create a new Marketing kit for you and will send it to you before the transition. Use it to promote your business, for instance, place the stickers with the QR codes on the restaurant doors and place your tents with QR codes or stickers on each table in or outside of your restaurant so your customers can order more easily through QR codes.
